About this original Painting:
This original egg tempera painting measures 30" x 40". It is
painted on a thick maple board with 2" thick hand-painted sides. It
does not need to be framed. It comes with the hanging hardware attached
to the back and arrives ready to hang on your wall. It has been
given several coats of a archival varnish to protect it.
This original painting is
one of a kind. It was painted in pure
egg tempera made from crushed stone and egg yolk. Using crushed stone to
make my paint pigments makes the artwork incredibly luminous and alive.
This is a very old technique (precedes oil paintings) Nothing is as beautiful
and luminous as egg tempera. This painting will last for centuries.
Artist's Inspiration:
My inspiration for this artwork came from my first trip to Provence
France. I love exploring the winding narrow streets and market squares of
the little French villages. People watching is a favorite cafe past time.
This painting was inspired in St. Remy which makes a great home base for
visiting all of Provence. If you walk down the lane you will come upon the
fabulous St. Remy market square. Can't you just imagine it? Here's a
