"We recently purchased 3 of your paintings (2 originals & 1 print) and we are extremely pleased with all of them. The colors are extremely vibrant & add so much character to the rooms in which they hang. The website photos looked great but when the real things arrived, we were overwhelmed by the quality. We're already scouting around the house to see where we can add some additional paintings to bare walls! Diane and Bob Moseley, Arnold, MD " read more customer comments
We
received the painting today. We love it! It is, of course,
beautiful. Many thanks.
Your
work is wonderful. It must be awesome to have such
a talent. Joel Williamsen Clifton, VA
Linda's Art Tips
How to Pick the Right Size
Artwork for your Wall
Do you have a bare wall and don't know what
size of poster, print, or painting to buy? Here's
a great tip. Take a piece of colored wrapping
paper or newspaper and cut it to the size you
think the artwork should be and tape it to your
wall. You will see instantly if it suits the space
and should be either bigger or smaller. This also
works when trying to choose a size for a
kitchen backsplash.
Move Your
Art Around
Have you had the same pictures
hanging in the same place, on the same walls for
years? Just by hanging your art work in different
places you can create an entirely new look for
your home. If you need a new print at a bargain

Art and Painting Tips:
Color Tip: When starting a
painting, keep a very limited color palette. Pick
one or two key colors and then build the rest of
your colors around those key ones. In my rooster and
sunflower painting above, my key colors are the teal
blue in the tail feathers and the bright red. All
the other colors are limited and complimentary to
these two main colors. Resist the temptation
to introduce a brand new color once you are well
into the painting. This way the painting will
have a singular mood and cohesive look. less is more
Remember , its not the color itself
that gives life to a painting, its the color that
you put next to it that does.
An editing eye: One of the
best things you can do once you are well into the
painting, its to move it around the room to get a
different perspective. If you paint flat on a table,
put it on an easel and look at it from farther away.
Reproduction: If
you are planning to reproduce the artwork into
prints or 2d images, take a digital shot of it and
print it out to see how it looks. You will see
things that you otherwise miss just looking at the
painting on the easel. Things are important in
reproduction that don't really come into play if you
are just selling your original. Original art
has the soul of the artist, whereas a reproduction
usually has to pop more, so you may usually want to
increase your contrast. if you sell your art
on the web, also see how the works looks on you
computer screen . Again you will see new things that
may need editing.
