All the front elements in this original painting; grapes, herbs & vegetables etc, were sculpted in 1/8" to 1/4" plaster relief before being painted in pure egg tempera made from crushed stones and egg yolk This sculpted painting will last for centuries!
My inspiration for this painting is my love of European markets! I love all the food markets in France and Italy. This painting was inspired in my favorite market of Perigieux, France. But I also love the market in St. Remy
This original painting is one of a kind. It is the only one in the entire world. It has incredible sculpted texture! The elements in the painting are lightly sculpted in low relief (about 1/8") before being painted in pure egg tempera made from crushed stone and egg yolk. Using crushed stone to make my paint pigments makes the artwork incredibly luminous and alive.
